About Us

DEVELOPMENT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTION (LPEP) is an institution under the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). This institution is tasked with supporting FEB – UNAIR in conducting research/study, training/seminars, and consulting services in the fields of Economics, Business, and Social Sciences.

Vision and mission.

  • VisionImproving the quality of research and human resources in the field of Sustainable Development Economics, towards SMART University.
  • Mission :
  1. Organizing research, training, and community service that improves the quality of human resources in the field of Development Economics.
  2. Improving the quality and quantity of research and training in the field of Development Economics.
  3. Increase the use of research and training for lecturers, students, industry, the world of work, and the community.
  4. Conducting transparent and inclusive Development Economics research and training.

Dr. Ec. Bambang Eko Afiatno, MSE, Ph.D.

Researcher and consultant in various fields, including: Transportation, Logistics, Energy, Environment, Urban Development, Investment, and Performance of Public Institutions. Experienced in collaborating with public and private institutions at international, national, provincial, and city/district levels. He has led several projects, including: Ministry of Economic Affairs, Bank Indonesia, Ministry of Finance, Pelindo, Pelindo Properti Indonesia, PT HM Sampoerna, Angkasa Pura, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Surabaya City Government, and Bappeda.

Atik Purmiyati, SE, M.Sc., Ph.D

Lecturer and Researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. Policy advisor, policy planner, and facilitator for Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives offices in various regions. Researcher in the field of entrepreneurship and competitiveness. Experienced in various programs, including Increasing the Financial Capacity of MSMEs, Cooperative Data Collection, and Human Resources Development for MSMEs. Experienced in survey design and management, data collection and data analysis.

 Dr. Miguel Angel Esquivias Padilla

Dr. Miguel Angel Esquivias Padilla, M.SE

Dr. Miguel Esquivias serves as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. He was a member of the Expert Staff Team at the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Center Surabaya under the coordination of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. Miguel has experience in Managing Research Teams under Bank Indonesia, Ministry of Education, and World Bank on topics related to Competitiveness, Global Value Chain and Trade Performance, Development Economics (poverty, inequality, financial inclusion and Technology), Urban Mobility, and Tourist.

Ahmad Jayadi

Coordinator of Community Service and Training Division

Akhmad Jayadi, SE, M. Ec. Dev.

Akhmad Jayadi is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University. His research focus is International Economics, Political Economy and Development Economics. Experienced as field coordinator for Public Perception Surveys, Community Socio-Economic Surveys and Quick Counts in several survey institutions including CSIS, CSG, PRC, IRK and Indopol. At LPEP, Akhmad Jayadi oversees 3 subdivisions as follows:

  • Regular Training Subdivision:
  • Incidental Training Subdivision.
  • Community Service Subdivision.

RESEARCH TEAM AND STAFF

LPEP has a diverse team of researchers and collaborators. The contribution of these diverse skills, knowledge and specialized experiences enables LPEP to provide multidisciplinary and innovative solutions for various client needs. This institution has the same concern for supporting sustainable and inclusive economic development, as well as having a positive impact on society.

The research team at LPEP consists of senior consultants, junior researchers, research assistants and researchers. LPEP combines expertise to integrate a balanced team and provide affordable solutions, at the right speed for our clients.

Senior Researcher

  • Dr. Vishnu Wibowo, SE, M.Si is the Chief Regional Economist of Bank BNI. Economic Observer and Expert in Macroeconomics, Finance, and Monetary. Dr Wibowo has experience in several Feasibility Studies for Investment in the transportation infrastructure sector.
  • Dr. Ahmad Solihin, SE., M.Si. Expert in the Efficiency and Effectiveness of Government Budgets and Expenditures in fields related to education, health, transportation, public services, among others. Previous Research and Consultation on Taxation, Wages, Labor, and performance of public institutions.
  • Dr. Deni Kusumawardani, SE., M.Si. Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Airlangga and Chair of the Master of Economics Program, has experience in various projects in the fields of environmental economics, green economy, and sustainable growth.
  • Dr. Lilik Sugiharti, SE., M.Si. Former Head of LPEP and Department of Economics, Universitas Airlangga. Development economist with various projects on Poverty, Health, inequality and gender inclusion. Dr Sugiharti has experience working with the East Java provincial development agency in processing industry development, and has experience in projects with international institutions such as the World Bank.
  • Dr. Ec. Tri Haryanto, MP., Ph.D. Lecturers, researchers and consultants are experienced in the fields of agricultural economics, economic development, efficiency and productivity.
  • Dr. Excellent Heriqbaldi, SE.,M.Si.,M.App.Ec. Researcher and Senior Lecturer, Dept. Economics, Airlangga University, Indonesia. Former Economist, Staff Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Experienced as an economic consultant for the International Labor Organization, International Budget Partnership, and The World Bank Group
  • Dr. Ni Made Sukartini, SE., M. Si., MIDEC. Lecturers, researchers and consultants are experienced in the fields of health economics, economic development (poverty, gender equality, and economic sustainability). Experience in projects related to smoking habits, salary - labor compensation, crime, housing construction, access to basic services, among others.
  • Dr. Rossanto Dwi Handoyo, Head of the Department of Economics, Airlangga University. Experts at Free Trade Agreement Center Surabaya Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. Member of the Wage Council of East Java Province. Consultant in Financial Economics and International Trade.
  • Dr. Dyah Wulan Sari, Chair of the doctoral program in Economics, Airlangga University. Experts in industrial organizations, experienced in productivity analysis, efficiency and energy analysis in various industries.
