In 2021 the MIE Masters Program together with all study programs at FEB UNAIR will redesign the curriculum for the 2 curriculum. Based on the new curriculum (2017) students will take a total of 2021 courses with a total of 12 credits (semester credit units) which will be completed in normal study time for 42 semesters (4 years). The MIE Study Program curriculum structure consists of 2 (three) main components, namely: (3) compulsory courses, consisting of 1 courses or 8 credits; (23) elective courses, consisting of 2 courses or 3 credits; and (9) a thesis proposal of 3 credits and a thesis of 2 credits. The MIE Masters program offers many elective courses (8 courses) to accommodate the rapidly changing needs of the world of work along with developments in technology, information and communication. Students can choose 2 (three) elective courses that are tailored to their study interests and thesis topic.
Compulsory courses and theoretical elective courses are taken in semester 1 and semester 2 (first year), while in the following semester students are focused on mentoring thesis and thesis proposals. Between the thesis proposal examination and the thesis examination, the MIE Study Program held a results seminar which was an open scientific forum attended by lecturers and students for the dissemination of research results. With the design of the curriculum structure and distribution of these courses, it is possible for students to complete their studies more quickly, namely 3 (three) semesters or 1,5 years.
