Universitas Teknologi Petronas Malaysia cooperates with Airlangga University in order to improve student insight about entrepreneur and management of financial institution Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT). A total of 20 students and three lecturers from UTP Malaysia came to UNAIR on Wednesday (10/5). Over the next ten days, they will undergo a series of activities including entrepreneurship lectures from Lecturer of Faculty of Economics and Business UNAIR, tour study, traveling to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Madura, Gresik and Surabaya. They want to gain experience how SME management in Surabaya and surrounding areas.
When they are in Surabaya, they will accompanied by lecturer and student of Economy and Bussiness Faculty. In other, bised of learning economyi, they will learn about culture of cityzen in Surabaya.
Dr Mohammad Pisol bin Mohd as Vice Head of Postgraduated Department UTP Malaysia said, student’s activity of UTP with UNAIR wished can brought both of them new experience. Beside have the knowladge, when the stay in Surabaya, UTP/s student can exchange culture experience that can be really important for both of them when they are back.
In addition, this program also provides a form of promotion and marketing to employers and employees in BMT, digging out information on how promotions are made by BMT in Surabaya.
After this cooperation, Pisol hopes there are other cooperation that can be woven. Such as research collaborations and certain topics to organize the conference. “We also want a academic cooperation there are comprehensive and broad.” Research and journal collaboration, seminars, and conferences to do something significant in the academic world, “explained Pisol.
“Exchange knowledge about economic between two countries, share knowledge about how to facing globalization. We are learning together about characteristic both of the country,” said Aulia, Student of FEB UNAIR.
