Bank Indonesia (BI) once again signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airlangga University. This MoU is a form of extension of previous cooperation. Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Madyan, in his speech said that UNAIR and BI cooperation has long been running, especially in the field of curriculum preparation of the central bank. “We have been working together in the preparation of the central bank’s curriculum since 2005.” Furthermore, we continue to collaborate and work together like holding guest lectures, research, internships, and many other things, “explained Madyan. In line with the statement of Madyan, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia. Perry Warjiyo said that the cooperation undertaken by BI with UNAIR is nothing new, inaugurating a plan of commitment to be better in the future. “UNAIR is the first university that welcomes our cooperation to develop a centralized curriculum, as the evidence of BI can not be separated from the academic world,” Perry said.
Perry added, there are three aspects that are emphasized in cooperation this time. In addition to central bank curriculum development, this time BI is also committed to provide assistance both human resources and books diktat. “The assistance we provide is also in the form of funding for research and scholarship included in the social research program,” he explained. In addition to the signing of cooperation held in Fajar Notonegoro Hall, Friday (19/5), there was also a Public Lecture with the theme “Indonesian Economy: Prospect and Policy Mix”. In the lecture was present Dra. Eva Kusuma Sundari, MA. MDE., Alumnus of UNAIR who is member of Commission XI DPR-RI. Eva said that BI’s role as central bank is extraordinary, especially in developing human resources. “BI has been extraordinary, from the world of education to social community. And the most important thing of all is investment in the field of HR, “he said.
